Google Users Are Smarter

Goog
Interesting article (surprisingly on Yahoo! News) stating that those who use Google for their internet searches tend to be wealthier, more internet savvy, and better looking than their Yahoo! using brethren. The article also claims that the longer one uses the internet, the more likely he will use Google as his search engine of choice.

Moreover, people whose primary search engine is Google are more likely to have household incomes above $60,000 than people who use competing search engines, according to the survey, whose results S.G. Cowen published in a report Monday.

Google also emerged as the search engine of choice, with 52 percent of respondents choosing it as their primary engine for general Web searches. Yahoo came in second with 22 percent, while Microsoft’s MSN and AOL tied for third place with 9 percent. Ask Jeeves Inc. rounded out the top five with 5 percent. (Google powers AOL’s general Web searches.)

But what about Blingo?

  1. Yay- Another reason why Google rocks.
    I love Google.
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Huh. I’ve always found Yahoo to be slightly more relevant–as tested in the Search Engine “Pepsi Challenge.” That said, I probably still use Google about 50% of the time. I know, I know, if Yahoo is more relevant why use Google at all? The same reason I listen to Rush Limbaugh and NPR.

Google is getting close to officially jumping the shark. Google-base are belong to us.

  3. So the more I use google, the more of a chance I have at getting a promotion at work? No thanks. Interesting study though, I wonder if the person that did it makes 60,000 a year. Oh how we waste life away.
