XB0x Headtracking System

headtracking

Modding devices or finding new ways to interact with them is something that I really have a passion for. I also love reading about what others have done in the same field. This is one such example of being able to interact with consumer devices in a new way. This site shows how a guy made a headtracking unit to interface with his XBox for that cool virtual reality feel. The system uses IR sensors to monitor his head movement and translate it to the joysitck controls of his console. This is a really cool mod but I believe that the head motion would probably be alittle more accurate had he used some gyroscopes or accelerometers. However, his way is much cheaper I’m sure.
