Another sweet NES controller mod. This one actually has a dissected, yet functional, iPod Shuffle inside. The NES controller buttons are mapped to control the shuffle and there is still room for the audio out and USB connections. There isn’t a ‘howto’ yet, but there are plenty of Flickr images to satisfy.
This site has a very simple walkthrough for modding a Zelda NES cartridge to house a computer hard drive. It definitely adds a geeky touch to any computer setup. Plus it would be a nice addition to my own NESperipheralcollection.
Fractalspin.com has an amazing selection of geeky, computer based fashion accessories, t-shirts and other geeky paraphernalia. Care for a stylish bracelet made from a Cat5 cable, or a belt fashioned completely from an old IDE connector? If so you should definitely give this site a look. Just because you’re a geek and computers are your thing, doesn’t mean you can’t look cool too. Trust me, with a Hex-Ferrite Necklace the ladies will be all up ons!
What I would have done to be at this event! This video clip shows some footage from several robot faceoffs - kinda like ‘Battle Bots’ for biped robots. The red one has all kind of skills. Watch for the robot body slam (world’s first?) toward the end.
